About company
During 2019 we have visited 32 shipping companies, surveyed 107 different vessels, carried out nine loss prevention exercises on large fleets, and visited six shipyards.
Not included in the above figures are the return visits to companies that we see on a regular basis.
The combination of a visit to the shore based management office combined with a survey of a representative sample of the fleet, remains the most effective approach to loss prevention.
This forms the bulk of your work.
In 2018, we surveyed 4 fishing vessels, 8 tankers, 42 general / dry cargo container vessels, 89 ferries, 2 cruise/passenger ships and 5 yachts.
We visited 33 shipping companies
We surveyed 3 shipyards / production facilities.
In 2017 we carried out 4 Loss Prevention Studies, 5 Technical Appraisals and 33 office management visits ( C surveys). We carried out 7 casualty surveys, 3 shipyard risk assessments and 1 semi sub heavy lift operation.
Similar to 2016, ferries and fishing vessels remained the categories of vessels surveyed most often and this reflects their risk exposure to insurers.
For loss prevention purposes during 2017 we surveyed: 93 ferries, 26 fishing vessels, 17 general cargo vessels, 8 livestock carriers, 6 bulk carriers, 5 offshore vessels, 5 barges, 4 tugs, 4 tankers, 2 cruise vessels and 1 car carrier.
