About company
The Bahrain Bayan School (BBS) is an independent, non-profit, co-educational, bilingual school (Arabic and English), providing American and Arabic Curriculum programs to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. It is accredited and licensed by the Ministry of Education in accordance to the Kingdom of Bahrain Government Laws and Regulations. BBS has received various awards and achievements throughout the years and has been rated as 'Outstanding' in all categories by the QQA on Oct 16, 2016. In addition to the Middle States Association, International Baccalaureate Program and THIMUN accreditations, BBS is well diversified, employing multi-cultural Faculty and Staff. BBS was established in 1982 by Dr. May Al Otaibi and Mrs. Kathleen Acher Kaiksow in response to the perceived need for a bilingual national school on the island of Bahrain at the time. In its first year, the school served students from nursery to Kindergarten with only 40 students enrolled. The school witnessed a growth in enrollment every year, which lead to a gradual expansion of curriculum and grade levels. In 1986, to accommodate the increasing enrollment, BBS relocated to its present site at the educational district in Isa Town, which was a land granted by the late Amir of Bahrain His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. Over the years, Bahrain Bayan School continued working on providing highly exceptional education to all of its grades. As evidence of this, the school introduced its first batch of senior students with college preparatory courses such as the International Baccalaureate program and American Diploma. This was a significant mark in the history of Bayan School.
