Al Batinah International School
We are a family-oriented international school in Oman for students aged 4 to 18, fully committed to the academic, emotional and social development of its students. We are immensely proud to be the first and only international school in Sohar, Oman authorised to offer 3 International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. ABIS provides students with a personalised and well-rounded education that stretches beyond traditional academic subjects to embrace the arts, music, drama, design, innovative technologies and sport. Through applied knowledge, critical thinking, communication and cross-cultural engagement, your child will gain lifelong skills and will be well prepared to face a future we have yet to experience.
Welcome to Al Batinah International School (ABIS), a not for profit school in Sohar, Oman. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. This is a milestone for ABIS, which joins a legacy of IB World Schools around the world to reach this landmark. We offer the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme.
The IB’s vision is to foster open and enlightened minds through its educational programmes for students between the ages of 3-19 years old. Each programme is tailored to equip students with the skills they need throughout life and encourages lifelong learning beyond their school years.
We are immensely proud that as an IB World School we offer the gold standard in educational programmes where our students learn to be global citizens who are inquiring, knowledgeable and caring. Al Batinah International School (ABIS) is focused on becoming a leading international school in the GCC by providing an innovative, inquiry-based education that empowers its students to be successful. ABIS will be recognized for its motivating, supportive and individualized learning environment and for its close and respectful connections with its community and host country.
We are incredibly lucky to be able to focus all of our energy and resources around offering students the very best education that we can. Our strategic planning processes are all focussed around continuous improvement and driving the school closer to its goal.
In our CIS Membership Accreditation visit, the team commented on the close alignment between the school’s mission & vision and reality.
Our Strategic Goals
Our strategic goals provide us with focus when it comes to realising our Mission. Set in 2017 through collaboration between the ABIS Team, the wider community and the Board, they guide our school improvement planning.
