Since its establishment 70 years ago, the School of Mechanical Engineering (Department) of Dalian University of Technology has always adhered to the tenet of "Leading and cultivating people" and adhering to the academic motto of "Mingde and acquainted with knowledge, knowledge and practice" to "build a world-class discipline, cultivate first-class talents, and build first-class scientific research. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is the same age as the school and is one of the first eight departments established in our school. In 1949 , when Dalian University of Technology (then Dalian Institute of Technology) was founded, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was established. In 1999 , the former Department of Mechanical Engineering integrated the Mold Research Institute and Engineering Training Center to establish the School of Mechanical Engineering. The college has a solid foundation for undergraduate talent training. The undergraduate major of mechanical design and manufacturing and automation is a national characteristic major, and it has passed the national engineering education certification twice with outstanding results. There are 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 national quality courses / national quality resource sharing courses, 1 national teaching team, and 6 national teaching achievement awards . There are 2 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 2 first-level discipline master programs, 8 second-level discipline doctoral programs, 9 second-level discipline master programs, and 2 post-doctoral research stations.
