Beef from the Altes Land - quality from controlled organic production We have been breeding Black Galloways in our Altes Land since 1986, and have been a registered herd book breeding company since 1989. We started with 3 dams with their calves, which were originally supposed to be used to maintain the landscape of some of our pastures. But the initial enthusiasm for these uncomplicated and robust animals has now turned into a real passion for Galloway husbandry. Today, a herd of an average of 280 animals has arisen from this in natural rearing, which graze extensively on approx. 300 hectares of lush pasture. According to an old tradition, the Galloway cattle grow up in the originality of their herds and are carefully kept. Our business is mainly focused on the production of quality meat from Galloways, which we market directly to our customers from our own butcher shop. Some of our herdbook breeding animals are also sold for further breeding. In respect for animals, Münchhof has been guided by the principles of organic farming from the start and has been keeping cattle close to nature since the establishment of the breed.
